| Name: | Miss Wood |
|---|
This is the private journal of Miss Wood, an early eighteenth-century gentlewoman, presently residing with her richer relatives in Somerset. Miss Wood, known to friends and family as Kathryn, is fond of Mozart, long walks, the piano, picturesque scenery, novels (provided they're genteel), and lively but decorous conversation. She is in Somerset for the fresh air, recovering from a long illness, and takes a healthy interest in the progress of her host's attempts to grow hothouse pineapples.
Miss Wood's journal (available to the public by the magic of some sort of time portal...) is populated by her relatives, the Ogilvy-Moncrieff family, and their household at Ogilvy Manor. This family includes patriarach Sir James (he of pineapple cultivation), dishy younger son Edward, slightly vacuous daughters Julia and Louisa, and of course Lady Daphne, the most respectable good influence a young lady could hope for.
Please feel free to respond to Miss Wood's journal entries with impertinent remarks. She will not, of course, enter into discussion on any topic she considers to be without propriety.
I must stress, lest you say something to scandalise Miss Wood, that this is a special place I call Sanitised 1807. This is not the real 1807 where everyone dies of hideous but curable diseases, and poor people live in squalor on the streets of London. Those things no doubt exist, but in Sanitised 1807 we do not talk about them. That would be terribly scandalising of us. There are ladies present, after all. Also, we will not be talking about stable boys, crude but essential bodily functions or the militia without their shirts on. That sort of talk simply isn't on.
If you wish to friend Miss Wood, you are quite welcome to do so, even if you have not been properly introduced. She will, of course, friend you back again, simply because it would be impolite not to do so.

Kathryn's 2006-alter ego,
For the record, yes I do read too much Jane Austen and no you cannot appear in the journal as Dishy Edward's fiancee.
Visit 2006-Kayt at her writing journal, hopefully less cluttered now she has another outlet for her 1807-ranting.
2006 Kayt
I would also like to take this opportunity to credit Squidfingers for the background of this journal.
